Just An FYI

marinated beef?

not a hit.

  1. ...and why does the marinated beef LOOK just the salmon, or the mixed grill, or chicken and lamb? But they know the difference, the little brats!

  2. ya know what the problem is? having cats in the first place.

  3. I resent the implication that cats are higher-maintenance than dogs! Cats don't have to be WALKED or LET OUT! You try coming home every five hours! I need a babysitter if I'll be gone more than 12 hours at a time!

But it's true that dogs will eat anything. :)

Those picky little brats! Feed 'em the cheap stuff! When they get hungry enough, they'll eat. :)

  4. Actually my dog is that picky. She will eventually eat anything, but much as K's cats, she will let you know that she is unhappy with the dinner selection... she does enjoy the marinated beef, though...

  5. Our one cat will only eat the tuna cat food. As a result, that is all we offer the other cat. Since his palate has not been expanded, he is just excited to get the wet food.

Our dog, on the other hands, regularly turns her nose up at a new offering...and she will only eat her food if there is tuna cat food on it as well.

However, all this is worth it because our lives with them are fuller (and certainly make for better stories) than our lives without them would be.

  7. My cat won't even touch the wet food. This is fine with me, as she'll eat any sort of dry food I offer, but I do occasionally get maternal and try to provide a treat. But, no. The wet food goes uneaten.

She will, however, devour anything liver-flavored. Not fish, not beef, not chicken... just liver.

  8. You know, I was just lamenting the fact that I had horribly picky guinea pigs (of all things). If I try to cut back to the plain alfalfa pellets (sans crunchy bits of grainy goodness) I have to deal with squealing that could break eardrums. But, honestly, I would have a fit if I couldn't pick my own food, too.

  9. Living out in the country, I'm happy that my cats’ palates are tuned into the fine offerings of mice, snakes, moles and bats (yes bats). What I don't understand is way the cat food manufacturers don't offer these culinary temptations to our furry friends.

  10. Marinated Beer? Oh wait, I read that wrong - must be Friday!

  11. Here's where I show my non-catness: how do they know it's liver flavoured? Do the cat food makers taste it? Maybe no cat likes theses weird varieties of catfood...'marinated'? In what? I have to believe they're really gearing these selections to you suckers buying the stuff for your feline children and not the cats themselves. It's a dupe.

**disclaimer** I'd probably be the spoiliest of cat owners if my boys weren't allergic.

  12. What?! You think kitties are spoiled by the mere purchase of special canned food for them?? Nay, Kristy's I.F.s, nay. How's making a trip to the grocery store SPECIFICALLY to pick up turkey for your cat at the deli?! Yeahhhh. And then spending MINUTES vascillating on whether she would prefer the regular deli turkey or the smoked turkey breast. Sad but true, folks ... sad but true! :)

  13. oh, and fyi ... definitely the smoked turkey!
