Greetings From Massachusetts

hello from the other coast.

i am at my SisterHealy's house awaiting her return from the hospital with Baby Charlie.

i am also doing laundry. because do you know what kind of sister i am?

correct! i am the older sister who shows up with a suitcase full of unlaundered clothes, my toiletries in a plastic bag from safeway, and no gift for the baby.

but here is Charlie with my youngest Sister, Sam:

yay!

  2. to whomever wrote it was a beautfiful baby, you can't tell if it is from the picture. praise is pointless if it's empty praise.

  3. oh, it's okay. the baby *is* beautiful simply in that it's a baby.

though i have never been around a newborn (since my sisters) and so i have to say they *are* a bit...weird looking.

    sweet and cool, but weird.

    :)

  4. Whenever you go visit family you are supposed to bring your dirty laundry, it is like some sort of unwritten rule.

    Have fun with the baby:)

  7. shull o'fit--I've always wondered that, too! Why do they DO that? I've come to the conclusion that those people are so clueless that they think they're RIGHT, as in, they know they're not conforming with the rest of the comments, but they actually think it's IMPORTANT to point out the emptiness of social norms at a time like this, when a lovely girl is holding a newborn baby, which, although not beautiful in the Cindy Crawford sense of the word (bleah!) is UNBELIEVEABLELY beautiful in the miracle of life sense.

The only question is: does the anonymous party pooper think that the miracle of life sense is bogus, or do they honestly think that saying, "What a beautiful baby!" is an empty phrase because they didn't know that everyone around them, all this time, has been referring to the miracle of life? See? Once you break it down, you realize how incredibly sad these people are. I always want to laugh at them, but I take comfort in the knowledge that they are incredibly unhappy and miserable people.

  9. Also! Showing up at a family place with unwashed laundry and toiletries in a safeway bag...

...there's another way to arrive at a family house?
