"He Sounds Okay..."

says my dad on the phone this morning*, "but you should probably wait a few more weeks before letting him get to first base."

and then he laughed at me.

*who i don't need to tell anything directly anymore thanks to this handy-dandy blog thingamajig. because seriously, mentioning a guy to my dad is not the world's easiest task. though it's nothing -- NOTHING -- compared to the sheer terror that accompanies actually introducing a new guy to my dad...

  1. Wow, I would be pretty scared to introduce a guy to my dad if he was like that.

  2. Why bring baseball into it? You're just "making out", right?

Nudge, nudge, know whatahmean, know whatahmean. A nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat. Saynomore, saynomore, squire, saynomore.

  3. Dads are designed to protect you from the amateur fumblings of lecherous guys aren't they? It's cute he's maintaining his innocent daughter's virtue.

Or is there more to his apparently ironic laugh than meets the ear?

I think Kristy's dad is designed to ensure that all lechers are professional in their fumbling. A very different thing.

  7. Is your wife into photography, then?

Alex, you're totally my hero. I'm going to go get the Flying Circus now and rewatch it, for easily the 100th time.

  8. Wow. I have not shared my blog with my family. I guess that would be an easy way of breaking the news of a new guy to them, though. Hmmm... food for thought. :)

  13. also, k, you should know one of your occasional posters looked at my profile, realized he probably knew me, and he did! (Sort of--fellow alumni.) So we're no longer imaginary! But still invisible. Can we use INIF, for Invisible Non-Imaginary Friend?

  15. Go with the guy who isn't afraid to meet your dad. Tho not a pre-req, should the guy respect him, all the better for you.

  18. You're brave...I don't have the guts to let my parents read my blog. Not that it's usually bad...but Dad wants to believe I'm still his little girl...no need to tell him otherwise. :0)
