Older Single Chick Blog

so, sure. there are men who are infuriating.

but then there are men who are just so...uhm...just completely and utterly and profoundly misguided that they just make me shake my head in wonderment.

one such man was brought to my attention this morning. this guy has a blog filled with horrible, bilious, misogynistic drivel. he mostly refers to women as "dumb bitches."

here's a sample sentence of his:

How much credit should we give dumb bitches, when speaking thier opinion?

ah, yes. indeed. a question for the ages.

*blink*

anyway, my point in bringing this up at all is that for some completely inexplicable reason, he links to me.

as in, like, this blog. which he oh-so-charmingly refers to as "older single chick blog."

the blog world is weird.

so i'm just left to wonder if i should be flattered or horrified. i mean, given that i am pretty much everything he espouses to hate, i find it fascinating that he has given credit to this dumb bitch.

*scratches head*

  3. hehehehehe... dude! Older single chick ... isn't that like THE fantasy of all hot barely-legal guys? At least that is how I would look at it. Especially after Brett told me this past weekend how much fun it was to talk to me and get "an old person's perspective."

    Gotta love 'em.

I'm going to go all Mrs. Robinson on them and stuff. Seriously. Old is the new sexy!! ;)

    P.S. You are not old.

    P.P. S. Neither am I

  4. This boy is 25. And 30 is an "Older" chick? Well, I guess technically yes.

But I must assume he meant mental/emotional age, because clearly, K's got a few decades on him there.

  5. Older is the new young K!

Too much personal info here but when I was 18 I lost my virginity to a 27 year old. (yes, I waited* until I was 18)

I guess if he hates women so much but links to your blog you should be flattered.

    And slightly scared.

*by waited I mean I was too shy to push forward with women so got nowhere.

  6. Older than what? Old enough to have standards?

How much credit should we give complete imbecile numb-nuts pigs, when butchering the English language with misplaced commas, misspellings, and modifiers that don't agree with their noun?

    Not much.

  7. What is his link? Maybe he is being ironic with the bitch-hating. As a matter of fact, I bet he is.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yes, I would also like his link... would LOVE to check out this guy's blog!

  9. How did you come to know that he wrote about you and your blog?

  10. nicole:

He posted a comment in someone's blog, linking to his blog. I went to look, and was like, wait, he's talking about K! And I clicked a couple of links on his sidebar and low and behold he links back to K, and to Faville's blog.

I was slightly horrified and had to share with K ... kind of along the "This smells bad, what do you think?" lines.

  11. not that i disagree with your observation that there are a depressing amount of misogynist idiot guys in the world who voice such stupifying horrible views about women that i wonder if i am actually the same species and gender as them, but does it really have to boil down to repressed homosexuality? that seems to me to be a somewhat cavalier way to throw around sexual labels. can't they just be complete a-holes?

  12. hey cuz,

i took the comment off, because you're right.

however there is definitely *some* sort of sexual-issue stuff going on given that he's a 25-year old virgin.

    just sayin.'

  13. p.s. oops. did that link slip out?

  15. kristy,

don't know if you know about technorati, but i just did a search of your url, and 171 sites link to your blog.

    see here:

    congrats!

  16. hahaha, love that the link slipped out!!!

  17. Yikes. No one links to my blog! I never realized I was so pathetic!

It's like that Simpson's episode where Bart gets all that medical treatment. He has his hair all slicked back and large black glasses on and when he looks at Milhouse and sees his reflection he says "I'm a nerd!". To which Milhouse replies "So am I".

    crap.

  18. There's nothing wrong with being a 25-year old virgin though. i'm not, but i respect those who are. it doesn't mean something is wrong with them.

    ReplyDelete
  19. anon,

    please don't misunderstand me.

i'm not saying that there is necessarily something wrong with a 25-year old virgin (though that is not the societal norm, and thus technically abnormal), but i am not talking about ALL 25-year old virgins.

i am saying there are some sort of issues going on with this particular, angry, spiteful 25-year old virgin who hates women enough to write something like this:
I have completed a research paper showing that the 1 week right after a womens' period is when she has the closest chance of being somewhat logical and possibly making some kind of sense. Can all dumb bitches please refrain from posting until this 1 week has begun. Thank you.

i suspect his viewpoints and his virginity are linked is all.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm the said pig, but I think it's just a missunderstanding. I'm actually a big fan K.

My blog has 3 contributors, with very different viewpoints on things (that's what makes it interesting right?)

I recently changed the template and it took off who wrote what post, so it looks like they're all mine, but they aren't.

So just to clear things up:

    I am a 25 year old virgin.

I did not write any of the posts with profanity.

I am going to fix the blog so that it says who the author was.

I am not angry with women :)

btw, I'm honored that you wrote about my blog.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Sorry, one more thing. I don't think you're OLD, I think you're OLDER. Big difference. I wouldn't mind losing it to an older chick.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Re Geeklove's comment regarding spellcheck: Funny -- I first read that as "smellcheck." But that works too.

Re the bitch-hater, cool that he responded to your posting and is going to make some changes in his blog as a result. See, you're making the world a better place, one blog at a time.

    ReplyDelete
  23. hey slop,

thanks for your very decent response.

    :)k

  24. Huh. So, I used to date a guy who was into the whole older chick thing and it was teh awesome. Great. Until he dumped me. And then I realized that it had never been about me at all, just that he thought it was cool to have bagged an older chick.

    Boys are lame.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I am the pig everyone is lashing out at. I do not mean to affend any of those women that would not call my friends "homo" "asshole" or "stupid little girl." Especially for nothing leaving us all confused about who they are or what they are talking about. The title "dumb bitches" was given to specific girls known as "pals from Texas." I, by no means, refer dumb bitches to all women. I do not hate women, I dont hate anybody.

  26. pg just alerted me to the fact that i didn't even put the url in correctly. but i'm sure you guys can figure it out if you want to.

and again, i appreciate your comments, antonio, though i still think the posts are awfully harsh.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Harsh-yes, but thats what friends do for each other. You have friends that called this last guy you dated from "asshole" to "orange-cocked prick" to "fuckmuppet" and so on. Not to mention the other man-bashing comments that I did not get my feelings hurt by. Are your friends comments not harsh? I dont blame then because as you have read, I would do the same thing. Nice blog.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Antonio makes a point.

And don't we all have issues. If one's not dealing with (or delt with) some issue linked to women, then it's an issue linked to men. it all comes out sexually somehow. All probably linked to childhood abandonment issues linked to mom and pop. so what else is new. fascinating blogging.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I have learned that some people take things far too personally. In the blogging world it seems wiser to not take offense unless a comment is directed towards you personally.

I link to this blog from mine however my link is called 'She walks', not 'single older chick blog'. Do women even like to be called chicks?

See how easy it is to say something that might upset someone else?

    ReplyDelete
  30. i'd visited slopmaster's blog after he posted a comment in faville's blog. i only read one of the posts in it -- the one about the advantages to being a 25 year-old virgin. i was so turned off by the misogyny and ignorance in that single post that i didn't read any further. (i do confess to writing a comment to that post regarding his being embarrassed to buy condoms.)

i didn't notice they'd linked to kristy's blog too! (of course, "single older chick" would never have made me think "oh! that must be kristy's blog!")

i think the last time i thought of 30 as "older" i was maybe 22. of course, now 30 is "younger" for me. so i guess that makes kristy the "young single chick." :)

jeez. it is so very weird to see oneself through the eyes of others...

    ReplyDelete
  31. I have to admit one of the reason's I check this blog daily is because of the funny yet somewhat insightful comments from Kristy's IIFs.

I turn 34 in 4 months so 30-something doesn't seem old to me at all! Now my kids...well...they think I'm old! hehehe

    ReplyDelete
  32. As to the the question "do women like to be called "chicks"...I guess for me it depends on the context and intent...kinda like some people post derogatary terms against gays and then write it off as "well my gay friends don't mind".

    ReplyDelete
  33. I don't know whats more fun...the blog or all the post-blog discussion.

I am being sooooooo entertained here.

    ReplyDelete
  34. haji...I know what you mean!

Hey! See how ONE mistake I made several weeks ago STILL comes back to haunt me? Some people just can't let things go...

K obviously isn't one of those people. I'm looking forward to her next post already!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Chicks, broads, dames, skirts = acceptable terms for women in any context. And kind of hip/hot.
bitches, ho's, and C U Next Tuesdays only acceptable when one has performed an action that legitimately acquires such a name. Any kind of casual reference to females in this manner is immediate grounds for a severe cockpunching.

  38. Ok, so I had to take a look at this blog and I have to say this -- it takes quite a bit to shock me. This blog did it. Antonio made the comment that we made some pretty harsh comments about K's F-tard date, and that we're coming off as being slightly hypocritical. But let's get something very clear here -- we made comments about an individual. One person. Not a group of people. A group of people that, might I add, the author has very little experience with.

My 18 year old sister summed it up brilliantly -- you can date any boy. It takes a man to be in a relationship. Wisdom beyond her years.

  40. kristy,

since when did your blog take on a socio-political slant? i mean, racism, sexism, slanderous comments,...

also, "i'm just sayin'" needs to die already.

for the record, a agree that the cheetoh cock comment and others like that are pretty mean, although they are made about an individual, not a subset of the population.

  44. I just want to come to the defense of my friends site that has this blog posted on it. My friend does not think this way about women at all. In all actuallity it is another of our friends that made this comment and he is the one to blame if any. I will not give names so that these people may save face, but the one that holds this site is not a woman hater or anything like that. This has all been a case of mistaken identity on his behalf, so please blame the other guy! :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Sorry, I just finished reading this blog and I see that the identities have been already revealed, so please disregard my last comment.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I stand by my orange-cocked, cheetos-eating masturbator comment, because it *was* directed at an individual. The very individual who happened to refer to this male "condition" in the same post he insulted K.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Beheldeva- The comment made on slopmaster tales was not about a "group of people". It was directed at "specific girls". If you had read the comment entirely as well as the comments here you would know that. -E

  48. Damn...Well if your the "Older Single Chick"...I must be the Older, Older Single Chick (34 in a few weeks).

I remember being 25, I knew nothing and men that age knew less than nothing!

    Cool Blog!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Hi Vixen! You say that about men know at our age and when we are 34 you will be like 43, and I guarantee that you will say the same thing about the 34 year old guys. What if these posts were made 9 years down the road? Would you still say "When I was 34 I knew nothing, and men at that age knew less than nothing?" Sounds kinda femanistic if you ask me! Whos to say how much an entire gender might know at a given age? I am sure there are at least a few 14 year old boys that know more than most of the population.
