  1. I haven't stopped here in a while...I read about your loss on Guinness Girl's blog. I'm very sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my prayers.

  2. Holy Crap. I just read the obit in The Hour. I'm so sorry. Can't even comprehend. You are in my thoughts.

  4. K, I have been reading (and enjoying) your blog for a while, and as an official IIF, I hope you can find some comfort from this site: http://www.theinterviewwithgod.com

  5. That was the most ridiculous website I have ever seen. I can't believe you posted that here thinking ANYONE would find comfort in that. What a fucking joke.

  6. Although many may agree that is a "ridiculous website", maybe it should be taken in the spirit that it was sent. This probably isn't the best time or place to start a debate. Whatever your beliefs are, you don't know who may take comfort in that and it's not really appropriate to put someone else down when they are conveying their sympathies for someone's loss the way they want to. Anonymous 6:34, what comfort and good do you think your post brought to anyone?

  7. When I sent flowers, they asked for some additional info that isn't there in this post. I'm passing it on in case anyone else needs it:

    -Her dad's name: John Sammis
    -Zip code of the Margate:03246
-No Sunday delivery is available-- today only.

I talked to Kristy this morning and she is coping well and (as much as possible under the circumstances) enjoying being with her family.

  9. Just another passerby who is impressed and touched by your writing which makes it all the more shocking to hear of your loss. You have my sympathies and hope for gentler days ahead. I lost my mom 2 years ago and miss her dearly.

She'd probably be coping better if you hadn't, you know, stolen her boyfriend.

That is, seriously, one of the most inadvertently funny things I've ever read.

  13. Maybe there's a contest for "most tasteless troll". I think "anon" is a contender!

  14. Maybe "mejane" wouldn't have had to steal "k"'s boyfriend if "k" and "el-g" hadn't been so romantically wrong for each other.

And can you really call it stealing if they were no longer together?

  15. I just stopped by because it had been a while. My thoughts are with you and your family. If there is anything a fellow Mass based blogger can do, let me know.

  18. Hey Kristi,

I wish I knew what to say, but nothing seems right. Just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you and your family.

  19. Serrephim, I hate to even play into this string at a time like this but I think they're talking about K and El G.

  20. I've only read your blog a few times but I wanted to say that I'm sorry to hear of your loss.

It's very brave of you to share your life with strangers. You run the risk of being slammed by the insensitive, but that is tempered by the potential gain of real relationships. Lest anyone jump on that one, online relationships are just as valid and connected as relationships formed IRL (in real life)

Anyway, thank you for choosing to be open. My thoughts are with you.

  21. Anon 11:17 -

I knew who they meant - I was snarkily pointing out (a) how ridiculous that statement is because no one steals anyone from anyone - people aren't property without minds and hearts and desires of their own ... and (b) how inappropriate that kind of comment as a response to anything in a blog post about someone's father's memorial service!!! ... and (c) I think K would gladly admit the current arrangement of Ish/K & ElG/MeJane is for the best, and a source of strength for her right now, as opposed to something making this loss more difficult for her to deal with, as the comment suggested.

    To K:

*hugs* -- missed you and I'm glad you're "home" in SF.

  22. Ijust wish someone had K's password, so they could go in an delete these mean spirited comments. This is not the time nor the post for this.

K, I'm truly sorry for your loss.
