this is crazy
i forgot to charge my ipod. this means that i will not enjoy my workout in the slightest. usually. but! um, i have learned that there is internet access here on the stairmaster. yes. you read that right. i. am. on. the. stairmaster. i feel like i'm in some sort of futuristic wonderland...with no "return" key. picture, if you will, me panting. climbing. and typing on an (unforgiving) touch screeen. now i have lost the ability to see the screeen.....so more later. man, thi is coool.
OMG, that is too funny. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is cool! Talk about multitasking...I thought it was cool several years ago (when I was a member of a gym) that I could plug headphones in on the elliptical machine and hear music or TV...
ReplyDeleteSo Jetson's! Now where is my closet that I step in bedraggled in my jammies and come out Gorgeous? I've already seen the doggie treadmill and robots that vacuum and mop.......
ReplyDeletePS. I heart kiki - you make even a super duper sucky day brighter.
Kat
I want a stairmaster with internet access! They have the recumbant bikes with TV and Internet at my gym but I don't like those...
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
Hahahaha! That's the funniest thing I've ever heard! I so want to go to your gym!
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the video game stationary bikes? They're for too-sedentary kids (or 30 year old men, I suppose). You hook it up to your Xbox or Nintendo or whatever and the screen will only show if you're pedaling more than a minimum RPM. If you stop pedaling, the screen dims than goes black.
ReplyDeleteThat is pretty cool and you have almost no spelling mistakes.
ReplyDeleteDUDE... my gym suddenly seems totally lame. we don't have internet on our machines! what is this crap? i hadn't even heard of that before....
ReplyDeleteright on! I bet that post burned through at least five minutes with out you even noticing.
ReplyDeleteOooh! You should post from the gym every time you go! Like, this is kristy, reporting live from NJ06...
ReplyDeleteWould love to be able to internet whilst at my escercise table, but my partner usually wants me to pay attention to the bidding. Besides, I dislike these modern machines cause I don't get to watch Thighmaster infomercials anymore. xo
ReplyDeleteWhat is your gym?
ReplyDeleteyay for you for going to the gym!! and freaking cool for the internet on the stairmaster. that is too cool.
ReplyDeleteInternet plus workout? I could walk for 8 hours.
ReplyDeleteIn addition to it being so cool that you have internet access on your gym equipment I think it's absolutely awesome that you were at the gym at 7:30am!!! God bless you! I can barely pull my ass out of bed in the morning and you're at the gym. I'm impressed. I have to do the exercise thing in the evenings, I am SO not a morning person.
ReplyDeleteHaving internet access at the gym would be awesome but unfortunately at Curves you only spend 30 second intervals on each machine so it would kinda be wasted on us.
For when your iPod is charged again - I highly recommend iTrain. You can download workouts on to your iPod and it's pretty cool. It also keeps me on the treadmill for 40 friggin' minutes, so that's tell you something...
ReplyDeleteSo let's see, you finally went to the gym and worked out after how many times NOT going? I guess the slippery slope to NJ06 has commenced, yes?
ReplyDeleteLike RiseyP said, you should change your motto at the top of the website because frankly, you really aren't losing weight or rather, focused on losing weight. Not that that's a bad thing, especially if you've got Ish around keepin' ya company, encouraging you to break out of your comfort zone and explore the whole stand-up comedy scenario and all.
Why don't you make this a habit, perhaps? Posting your blog while you're exercising. In fact, make it a mandate: no blog posts unless it's done at the gym while working out. That way it's a done deal, or not. Your choice.
ket/chit
That is way cool.
ReplyDeleteI totally don't think i'm coordinated enough to use a stairmaster and type at the same time.
i can barely type while standing up.
feh.
um, that was not me saying kristy should change her blog motto. that was some wild n crazy spoofer!
ReplyDelete;-) :-P
but at least *i* now have a new motto!
riseyp: accept no imitations(tm)
Ok... so I am sure that everyone is going to just rip me a new one for even saying this, so I will preface it by giving a little praise...
ReplyDeleteI love this blog. I check it daily for updates and can relate to quite a bit of the daily struggles and really do not give a rat's patoot whether or not ANYONE'S blog focuses on what they originally meant to focus on. I also do not care if Kristy, or anyone else, works out every day or not and think that she is to be commended for her efforts, regardless...as well as the humor that is garnered from them....
now on to what will be flamed.... I read the comments from the blog entry prior to reading the actual comments, and although I thought it was rude, I do not see anywhere in the entry where the person said that you were gaining weight (did I miss that?) but simply that you were not focused on working out and weight loss. Then I read the actual comments and found that the part about Ish was taken out, which to me shows that this person was actually trying to give you some helpful (albeit ridiculous, as you have shown) advice. I truly do not feel that this person was insinuating that you have gained weight, and do not think it was meant in any mean way....
so let the ripping begin!! ;)
But seriously, good luck with the working out and all that.... you seem to be doing a great job, and really.... you are the only one you need to answer to anyhow.
Laini
I agree w/ Laini!
ReplyDeletehi guys,
ReplyDeletelaini, thanks for your comment. i understand what you're saying, so let me clarify.
there were two commenters. one posing as "RiseyP" and one who referenced the comment. the RiseyP comment said: "so you're saying you've gained weight rather than lost some, right? then sheeze, change the motto at the top of your blog because honey, the way you're doing it, losing weight ain't a bitch, just your bitchin' is."
i was not, actually, saying that i've gained weight, so i though the comment was a little weird. i let it go, until it was referenced.
as for the second comment: i took offense to it not because the person was suggesting i'd gained weight, but just because the tone was so...i dunno, threatening? like, "if you don't..." i took the part about Ish out because i didn't think it was relevant, even though it did make the response more even-handed.
anyway, i do hear you. i think a lot of people come here offering nothing more than advice that doesn't always come across as such. i try not to be too sensitive, but it's hard sometimes. because you know, this is really me and my life. sometimes the comments just seem cavalier.
it's been quite some time since i stepped foot into a gym. i mean a reallllly loooong time! i hate gyms. they smell. i'll never look like those beefy men; which makes me feel inferior. i hate public showers.
ReplyDeletebut.... internet access while exercising??!!! now that's compelling. i might have to reconsider :-)
btw, when did you buy an iPod? maybe you have an entry about it. i'm way behind in reading your blog. what happened to the mobiBlu?
