Proud Kristy

yeah, no.

no pictures of ike and tina.

you know how sometimes you think you look a certain way (fantasy), and then you actually see the pictures (reality)?

kids, i was horrified. horrified.

i mean, i have been working out. i have been eating better. i have been drinking less. i have been way more active and healthy. i have been losing weight (but let us not discuss my issue with the scale at the gym -- lo, that is an entry unto itself).

so the fact that i ended up looking like i was wearing a black fringed muu-muu is rather disconcerting.

muu-muu!

so yeah. i'm going to have to re-buckle down as these here holidays approach and remind myself that even though i'm making progress (reality) i do still have a long way to go before i should consider wearing fringe again (fantasy) (for now).

and sure, maybe eventually i'll show you my tina pictures, but let's hope that by that time, we can dub them "before."

  2. oh, i SO know what you mean.

    personally, i think it's the camera's fault.

  3. Have you tried fitday.com? I used it for a while and realized how much I ate on a day-to-day basis. I convinced myself it wouldn't kill me to eat half-servings for a while (which also means I don't feel guilty when I have a mid-day snack) and it made a huge difference (25 pounds in 3 months). So much easier to not finish my meal than convince myself to go running every night.

Keep up the healthy habits! :)

  4. I always feel much much cuter than any pictures or window reflections every convey.

  5. Who took the pics?

You did NOT look like you were wearing a muu-muu!

    I thought you were hot!

    *cries*

  6. LOL. I'm horrified by how hiddeous I look in pictures. I am so not photogenic. There's nothing worse than thinking you look cute and then seeing what you really look like in a pic. Awful.

  7. The camera adds 10, I mean 20 pounds, remember? Never look at a picture of yourself without keeping that in mind and you'll be fine!

  8. C'mon! Aren't you the same girl who once posted a picture of her (bare) bruised ass. Surely these pictures can't be worse than that. Please post them.

  9. Awww, shucks! I really, really wanted to see them. We didn't even get to have Halloween here in southeast Florida. THey called it off. I didn't get to see not one costume...can't you humor us hurricane vitims just this once? Pretty please???

  11. No, I really feel for you on this topic. I bet you looked fine, but Don't share them.

  12. Don't tell her to not share! We want to see!!! However, k, it's up to you.

And enjanerd's comment (hi, enjanerd! i'm one, too!) is right on. Fitday is responsible for at least half of my twenty-pound weight loss.

  13. I work with people that are on TV or in the newspaper a lot. (No, they aren't models--they're politicians.) Anyway, they always look so much thinner in person than they do on TV or in the newspaper. Trust me, I can see one walking down the hall and then turn on the TV and see them and they look compeletely different. I guess my point is that you probably don't look anything like the pictures.

  14. I'm a normal person who just found out she has cholesterol tri-something-erides of 395. My doctor said Lose Weight or Die! So now I have to figure out how to do it because diets and exercises make me soooo angry. I've been reading your blog for ages and I adore you! Lose weight, don't lose weight, I am your fan either way and think you are BEAUTIFUL just the way you are.

  16. Kristy,

...my first comment though I have been reading you for ages. Hi!

IGNORE THE PICTURES. You felt good about your self because you like who you are and you have been being healthy. Those feeling are so much more real and important than any pictures.

    love you!

  17. k-- You did look beautiful on Saturday night, and sexy too. Even with a (fake) black eye.

When you were shaking that fringe on the dance floor? Yowza.

    Ikey likey.

  18. I thought you looked great in that dress. Photos suck. You did NOT look like you were wearing a muumuu. You looked hot. Especially when that fringe was a-shakin'.

  19. ish has the idea. if we (i mean I) tend to believe boyfriends who say negative things, why is it so tough to believe the positive? I have trouble believing the yowzas... make them your own!!
