Gratuitous Photo Of Eve: St. Patrick's Day
Of course, her onesie said: Kiss Me, I'm Irish.
It was the only day of the year we spent reminiscing about how we came very close to giving Eve a Gaelic name. Yes, Eve was almost named Fionnuala. In fact, we didn't actually know which name it was going to be when we got to the hospital.
Obviously, Eve won out for several reasons, and we've never regretted it. But we still like Finn, and still enjoy the idea of torturing Americans with both the spelling and pronunciation of Fionnuala.
awwww,
ReplyDeleteOh, Kristy! I just want to smooch on those cheeks! You should definitely post more baby pictures. Eve is irresistable.
ReplyDeleteOMG - that is the name my parents almost went with in 1983. Instead they chose Jennifer 'cause it's not like there were a ton of Jennifers in the early 80's!
ReplyDeleteShe is so stinking cute. Although I do miss the funky hair do, Miss Eve.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am jealous of her tights.
My friends just named their baby Fionnuala. True story.
ReplyDeleteIt's weird how eventually you can't imagine having called your child the second or third choices on the name list because their name just seems to fit them...
I'll bet Eve will be glad you went with the name you actually gave her. It is easy to spell and write. She is going to be walking before you know it with the schooching along the floor, then she will get up on her knees and then it is all history when she starts walking. She is precious.
ReplyDeleteWell that was my "AWWW" for the day! What a gorgeous babe! That's a calendar photo for sure.
ReplyDeleteI like Finn, but I feel like she totally won being named Eve.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter was nearly Aoife (another Gaelic name), but turned out as Fiona. And it fits! Fionnuala is beautiful. I knew a Fionnula O'Flanagan. What a name! Eve is precious. I love watching her grow up.
