At Least My Hair Looks Nice

i woke up today with either the worst allergy attack ever, or the beginnings of a respiratory cold.

and also a zit the size of utah forming on my chin.

and also aunt flo.

"WHY!?" i asked myself this morning. "WHY is this happening NOW?"

now. when i have an a cappella performance in two days.

"because," Ish replied, "you have a performance in two days."

of course.

*grumble*

and if any of you are interested,
the Loose Interpretations are performing at the
Dolores Park Cafe on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
i'll be the one sneezing.

  1. Always at the worst possible time. I once performed in a play after accidentally taking NyQuil gel caps instead of DayQuil. I had a runny nose and snot was all over under my mask (aren’t ya’ll glad I’m sharing this?). My best performance to date. I'm sure you'll feel better in a couple of days. Lots of tea and rest!

  2. My roommate uses this awesome stuff on her zits and it really works. Queen Helene Mint julep mask. Just put it over the offending zit and it will go away. Trust me. I used it and it worked!

The best part is that it's only $3

  3. A zit the size of Utah? Does it come with its own choir?

  4. If you get snotty and gross, grab some of that Mucinex stuff the is over the counter. It works like a charm..in that snot removing kind of way.

What will you be singing, darling?

  5. It could be worse...I currently suffer from random itty bitty bruises that are about 1/4 inch in diameter. Even my clumsiness has not provided a reason for this event. My favorite is the one currently on my cheek when I have two interviews coming this week.

  7. Look at the bright side of it all being at once, you get it all over with at once. Hope your feeling better soon.

  8. As a fellow singer, some advice - you gotta take something for sure, or you'll be hoarse (and totally miserable!). However, a lot of the OTC decongestants are crazy drying, so drink lots and lots and lots and lots of water! Worry not, though, you can do it - I did a performance once with strep and an awful fever. Not fun during, but a great story after!

Wish I could see the choir, it sounds superfun...but alas, looks like no tours to Texas on the horizon.

    Feel better!

  10. AIRBORNE. Try it for your cold. It works great! Got mine at Walgreen's.

    Hope you're feeling better soon!

  11. Zicam has helped me through many awful colds. It's worth the high price. Celestial Seasonings Tension Tamer tea is my recommendation to help survive a cold as well. Anything with menthol (mint) will clear up your congestion, it has a bunch of other healthy botanical crap in it, and ginger, too, so it's also good for stomachaches and hangovers.
