No! I Am Not Gone! I'm Under Construction!

Um, hi.

This is the longest I've gone without posting and it kills me. But no. I am not gone forever. I have not actually gone anywhere. I've just hibernated by mistake.

Then once the accidental hibernation was well underway, I though I wasn't going to come back until my site was relaunched.

YES I SAID IT. RELAUNCHED. New design, new host, new everything.

But ah...did you notice how it's like, January 13 already? Oops. I had hoped I could get my act together before the start of this year, but I was only half right. I DID manage to devise a plan and now I post to Promtacular every weekday.  Which is great!

It's just that I'm also working full time for a start-up.  And have an 18-month-old.  And am 23+ weeks pregnant.  And all I actually want to do is eat Sour Patch Kids and chocolate cake. And remember something, anything, for longer than 12 seconds.

Wait, what was I saying?

*scrolling up*

OH! Ha! Right.  So this redesign is coming soon!  Someday!  Regardless, my posts will start again next week (even if the design isn't new and sparkly yet).

Because I have a lot to say and I barely managed to eke anything out in 2010 and I'm really tired of blogging being my life and career and livelihood...and never getting to do it. Writing is and always will be my first love.

I WILL NEVER QUIT YOU, INVISIBLE INTERNET FRIENDS WHO STILL READ THIS. I LOVE THE THREE OF YOU VERY MUCH.

Comments

  1. Yay. I've missed you while you were away.

  2. Oh thank god. Promtacular is nice and all, but not enough. No pressure or anything.

  3. I just had to laugh - when I read this, there were 3 comments. I guess you have *FOUR* invisible Internet friends now! ;-)

I agree with the other 3: we miss you! I think we all understand that your plate is pretty full right now.

  4. Oh hell, there's at least 7 of us out here, pining away, waiting for the days you post...

    ReplyDelete
  5. More than seven :)
Happy to know you are still here!!!

  6. No worries, we all have times like that. I'll continue reading even if you only posted once a year.

  7. Don't forget those of us in the land of Zion : )

  8. Thanks so much!! I am one of your (more than three) readers/fans, and I have to say I was gettin' a little bit whiny/crabby at the dearth of posts here. Mainly I was all like "come on! you're pregnant again, Eve's getting older and I am demanding info on your life asap!" But, I like everone else TOTALLY understand that you might have more to worry about these days................

Anyway, I am SO looking forward to more posts from here in my cubicle!! *YAY*

  9. You know I ALMOST posted a bitchy whine a few days ago because you hadn't posted in so long. And then I thought, don't yell at the pregnant lady with the toddler.
And you're working full time too? WTF?

Missed you! and YAY for new posts whether sparkly or not.

  10. It is funny how you and my daughter are living parallel lives. Pregnant the same (both) times, now working while pregnant with a toddler. I completely understand your lack of post. I do not, however, condone them. Get back to your first love, so we can enjoy the funny! Oh and Promtacular is spectacular. Really.

  11. You don't HAVE to have a blog, you know. Maybe it's time to let this one go.

  12. You are all very kind. VERY. I appreciate it immensely, and your comments make all the difference in the world.

Part of the reason I'm migrating this blog (bc I am) is so that I can do things like institute comments that have a REPLY feature.

And Anon 9:45, I know I don't HAVE to blog. I really want to, for me, because I love having an outlet to write. NOT having this outlet makes me get all stuck in my head and it's not good for anyone. The trick (or whatever you want to call it) is figuring out how to make personal blogging part of my regular day/week, without relegating it to the back burner because it's something I do "for me."

    Uh, suggestions welcome.

  13. i'm glad you will be moving away from blogspot to a place with reply comments and i more than thrilled that you will be posting more (SQUEEEEEEEEEEE), but i hope you know that some of us invisible internet friends love the design and look of things the way they are. comfy little place you have here.
and now i am singing "don't go changing, to try an please me" out loud, at work. sheesh.

  14. Glad you're still around - I was starting to worry that something was wrong. In that way that I manage to worry about someone I don't know from a hole in the wall...

Anyway, glad you're just overwhelmed w/ life in all the usual ways. Good to hear from you!

  15. I wondered if you'd gotten sucked into some sort of alien wormhole or something. It's California, so I wouldn't be surprised. Glad to hear you'll be back!

  16. Ahh... we love you too! (and missed you!)

  17. Glad to have you back :)

  18. YAY! I missed you! And indeed, I gave you a shout out this past December when the husband and I were in Napa. I am pretty sure he has deemed me once and forever a weirdo when I was like, "The blogger who gave us the manshaver lives here! Word up Kristy!"

  24. Yay! I can stop worrying about you now. :-)
Glad you're going to be around more often!

One of my New Year's Goals is to blog more. I need it for me, as you say. I had to rearrange how I do things in the mornings a little bit, but I've carved out some time for me to be able to blog. I know with a toddler setting aside time like that feels impossible, and some days it might be, but could you try the same sort of thing? Just an idea. :-)
